Bacon-Wrapped Pears Recipe

For a lighter take on bacon-wrapped dates, pears are a lovely floral accompaniment to the savory meat. Ripe comice pears are favored in my house, but bosc and anjou pears work just as well.
Balance the sweet and salty with honey, salt, and pepper, and serve these as an easy appetizer at a dinner party.
- 8 strips of bacon, cut in half
- 2 pears, cored and sliced into 8 pieces each
- 2 tablespoons honey
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
Wrap a piece of bacon around each pear slice. Place the pears sideways on an aluminum foil-covered baking sheet. Bake them for 30-40 minutes, turning the pears over half-way through and basting them with the bacon grease.
Plate, drizzle with honey, and season with salt and pepper before serving.
