It`s good to see there are so much options to go green when it comes to beer these days. However, I think you have forgotten one particular Dutch brewer. The Dutch brewers of Gulpener are trendsetters when it comes to sustainability and beer. Founded back in 1825 they started integrating sustainability into the production process already 12 years ago. All the raw materials must come from Limburg soil because they want to be involved in and stimulate regional activities. This is the reason why their own hops are being grown again in Limburg, unique and unfamiliar to Dutch farmers. The water used in the process is taken from their own source and even used grain is being used by farmers after the production process. Next to the ecological beers that they already have in store they are currently developing a complety climat neutral beer! Something worthy to mention!
For this up-and-coming "green" brewery, it's all about the can. But in addition to espousing the virtues of aluminum cans — they're completely reusable, eliminate the risk of oxidation, help keep local beaches free of broken glass — the company also makes its own bio-diesel and donates its spent grain to local farms.
