Almost like a grown-up version of a tree house, the wildly popular park features some of the city's best fare, along with plenty of options for arts and entertainment. Below, we list our seven favorite spots at the attraction.

With their original post in Brooklyn, Blue Bottle made its way to Manhattan to serve patrons along the High Line. The two-story cafe is located in a former loading dock of the Milk Building, where you can pick up a cup of drip coffee prepared to order, along with pastries. Blue Bottle is serious about coffee — no fancy, whipped cream-topped calorie-filled concoctions here — and they're just as serious about being nice to the environment. Cups, lids, and even coffee filters are compostable.

Daniel Delaney has built quite the following at his Brooklyn BrisketTown — and now he's brought it to the High Line. That's right, Delaney Barbecue has invaded the borough of Manhattan with an outpost at the incredibly popular warm-weather park attraction. SmokeLine features Texas-style barbecue plates, sandwiches and salads.

Famous for its ice cream sandwiches, the goodies at Melt Bakery will satisfy your sweet tooth on a warm day – or any other day for that matter. For cooler afternoon or after-dusk dates, the bakery also serves up hot tea and warm cookies.

Formally the Nabisco building, this passage between 15th and 16th streets is home to public art displays, sit-down events and the occasional cocktail affair. The building is accented with Spencer Finch's stained glass art. and will lead you to Chelsea Market, home to many fun shops and finds.

Stargazing on the High Line

From dusk until about 9:30 p.m. on Tuesdays between April and October, amateurs and experts gather for an evening of stargazing from one of the nicest parks in Manhattan. Enjoy views of the moon, stars and planets from the Amateur Astronomers Association's high-powered telescopes as volunteers explain the magnificent the night sky.

The Porch is an open-air café where you can dine al fresco — and drink some fine spirits. Typically teeming with a fashion-forward crowd, this beer garden directly underneath the High Line offers communal seating for 200. Line up carnival-style to buy food and drink tickets, $8 each, and settle in for a German brew with bites such as bratwurst, currywurst or pretzels. For extra fun, check out the ping-pong tables or the photo booth next to the bathrooms inside the Standard Grill.
The view here of the Hudson River and boats floating by is unbeatable—and hey, you're on a boat too! The lightship Frying Pan, built in 1929, is living out its golden years as a floating dive bar. Grab your friends and quench your thirst with a bucket of six Coronas ($34) and munch on pier food like burgers, mussels and Little Neck clams.
