The Atlanta metro area keeps growing and that means new restaurants moving into the city and surrounding areas. It could be Asian, Mexican, Italian, French or maybe a fusion restaurant. 2014 has been a huge year for new restaurants in Atlanta and the suburbs. Atlanta is home to many celebrity chefs and many young chefs that are out to make a name for themselves. Foodies constantly rate Atlanta as one of their favorite cities to try new restaurants and here are a few you might want to try.
Polaris – Atlanta
265 Peachtree St. N.E.
Atlanta, GA 30303
Polaris is back. After being closed for years, Atlanta’s legendary rotating restaurant atop the Hyatt Regency Atlanta has reopened and it’s a great place to take your significant other or guests in from out of town. It’s also a great place to hold your next party or corporate event. Start the night with a cocktail and then see what is on the constantly changing menu. This is a totally new look for the Polaris. Don’t pass on a fresh baguette with the “Blue Dome” honey butter. Eat, drink and enjoy at the newly reopened Polaris.
5394 Peachtree Road
Chamblee, GA 30341
Southbound is a new twist on Southern fare in Chamblee. With a menu that includes beet and apple salad to go along with catfish and grits or wood-grilled chicken, how could you go wrong? Southbound also offers “small plates” and brunch on the weekends with all of your Southern favorites and more. Southbound takes pride in the service it provides and if you can’t decide on an entree, your server will recommend a few different plates for your table so you all can share.
3035 Peachtree Road N.E.
Atlanta, GA 30305
Shake Shack has come to Atlanta. This two-story restaurant is located right on Peachtree Road in the heart of Buckhead. While Shake Shacks have been popular in other parts of the country, this one, that opened in September, is the first one in Georgia. Get all of your favorites like burgers, dogs and that famous frozen custard. Shake Shack offers classic food, and over the past few years, there hasn’t been a lot of that offered in the confines of Atlanta. This is a treat!
