ABOUT ASTORIA-WARRENTON

Located at the mouth of the mighty Columbia River and the Pacific Ocean, Astoria, Ore., is in the midst of a cultural renaissance. In 2013-14, a new brewery, new hotel, expansion at popular Fort George Brewery, new distillery, three new restaurants, and new outdoor heritage square have opened, adding to the revitalization of downtown. Fondly remembered as the home of The Goonies, Astoria's rich and rugged maritime history is evident in the Victorian architecture dotting its hillsides, repurposed cannery buildings and many museums throughout town. Today, this pretty, gritty working town has risen as a cultural haven, brewery boomtown and foodie treasure trove.
