Burger King has responded to my Sept. 15 post and request for comment on the report it’s planning a black Whopper for Halloween. And yes, by golly, it is. On Monday the chain is announcing the launch of the A.1. Halloween Whopper.
The chain says this limited-time burger is inspired by the black Kuro burger it has sold in Asia but isn’t saying if bamboo charcoal or squid ink is used to blacken the Halloween burger’s bun as overseas. However, it says A.1. sauce is baked into the bun. The build is beef, American cheese, ripe tomatoes, lettuce, mayo, pickles, white onion and A.1. Thick and Hearty Sauce. The price comes in just under the traditional ceiling at $4.99.
