Foursquare Tips

  • Free samples and tours on Saturdays from noon to three.
  • Take advantage of free tours and tastings every Saturday and Sunday, from 12:30 to 4:00 p.m.
  • Try their Ales of the Revolution line, which brews based on recipes by Thomas Jefferson, Ben Franklin and George Washington.
  • I really love the smell of malt around the brewery. Try the flights to understand the diversity of beer flavours. If you love bacon, go for Smoke 45 Malt Liquor, a liquid bacon!
  • Philly brewery Yards made a sudsy ale specially for the 2011 Philadelphia Science Festival: E=MC Beered. Don't miss the free weekend brewery tours and tasting room, or Tuesday night beer Quizzo.
  • I'm pushing for legislation that would cut taxes for small breweries. The Small BREW Act would help small breweries like Yards Brewing by cutting the excise tax that small breweries pay.
  • Frank the bartender is a major douch. A first class little man d-bag. But the beer here is great!
  • Take the tour with Mike. You won't be disappointed.
  • Mike the tour guide is the shit. Also the brawler + chili rock my life.
  • Right on the water front, enjoy the large tap room made from all recycled products. We mean everyone - the tables, chairs and couches. There is shuffleboard here!
  • Love this place. Very laid back. They have a limited food menu; grilled cheese, bison chilly, tasty cakes. My favorite beer is the poor Richards, definately different. Great beer and people.
  • Ask for Mike Hans as your tour guide. You will not be disappointed!
  • Taste beer + food pairings as sensory scientists and brewers from Yards demonstrate the sensory properties + chemistry behind these local brews. Open bar + treats from local eateries. 4/26 7-10. $55
  • Trubble seasonal beer is great! Not sold in most bars due to it's 9.3% alcohol content. Must buy if you're already here!
  • Take the tour! Free beer. I'm sure all the employees are sloshed, which is awesome!
  • Grab a Tavern Ale (8% ABV!) and a grilled cheese, then challenge someone to a game on the Shuffleboard table.
  • Be sure to take a tour Saturday or Sunday between noon & four p.m. Saturday's are a tad more serious and you get a bunch of samples!
  • Probably the IPAs? I'm not a fan, but if you are there are plenty. If not, might as well find a place with more selection.
  • This place was packed on a Saturday afternoon.
  • Free brewery tour with free beer tasting!
