Jaffurs Viognier 1998
The 1998 Santa Barbara County Viognier is a blend of wines from two vineyards. The Stolpman Vineyard fruit (58%) provided a lighter, high-acid, floral-peach, mineral element to the wine, while the Bien Nacido Vineyard (42%) fruit added a richer tropical aroma of papaya, pineapples and flowers. It has a full mouth feel and a clean, lingering pleasant finish. It has gone two-thirds of the way through full malo-lactic fermentation and was aged on its lees. It should be enjoyed young. Viognier is the exotic alternative to Chardonnay. It's full and flowery, with unique scents of apricot and cloverÂ
