Ch. Laville Haut-Brion Graves (Blanc) 1985

Château Laville-Haut-Brion produces a very small amount of wine of the highest standard, with a resulting spotless reputation and great demand. Typical vintages exhibit polished acidity and light to medium body, with a characteristic nose of melons, figs, toast and minerals augmented by honey and spice. This clean, refreshing wine is also remarkably long-lived, easily living 20-30 years and more in the finer vintages. Most years benefit from five to ten years of bottle age to really show properly, but it is well worth waiting for wines of this caliber to open up fully. The crisp and stylish Château Laville-Haut-Brion richly deserves its reputation as one of the Graves finest white wines.
