Annie's Lane Copper Trail Shiraz Grenache Mourvedre 2000
The Annie's Lane Shiraz Grenache Mourvedre is a traditional dry
red style produced only when all three varieties have a good vintage. This
wine displays a myriad of aromas dominated with sweet berry fruit,
licorice and cinnamon/spice. The palate is rich and savory with ripe berry
fruit and velvet like tannins.
About the Region
North of Adelaide and Barossa, this pioneering Australian wine region grows chardonnay, shiraz, cabernet sauvignon, and other varieties, but is famous above all for its riesling. These wines, most of them made by a few dozen small wineries, are clean and bright and known for their vivid expression of varietal character.
