We all know about the importance of matching wine with the right food but what about the right mood? Yesterday, my mood called for a quiet night at home and an unpretentious glass of wine. Casillero del Diablo Reserva Chardonnay 2014 ($12) was the perfect accompaniment to my evening. This Chilean beauty is a very vivacious expression of Chardonnay and is full of beautiful tropical flavors like pineapple and mango. Vibrant acidity and a hint of minerality add supple structure to this pretty vino. Highly recommended for perking up quiet nights at home and with simple meals of seafood and fresh fish.
