After a day of professional level wine tasting in Tuscany, one needs a place to refresh and restore before indulging again. Palazzo Squarcialupi is the perfect oasis to wine, dine, and relax in Castellina in Chianti. A beautifully restored 15th century palazzo located just 45 kilometers from Florence in the heart of Chianti, Palazzo Squarcialupi is surrounded by vineyards and located on a charming street with shops and cafes. Decorated in a rustic-chic style, Palazzo Squarcialupi has 15 guest rooms and modern amenities include a swimming pool, a spa in the ancient cellars, and fantastic restaurant. The property is owned and lovingly managed by a dynamic husband and wife team - Tommaso Bojola and Monica Targioni.

Dining at Taverna Squarcialupa is an experience not to be missed. Chef Francesco Fineo and his team create elegant and flavorful dishes that showcase Tuscan ingredients and traditions with subtle artistic twists.

Of course, no meal in Tuscany is complete without wine and the vineyards surrounding Palazzo Squarcialupi aren't just for show: the Bojola-Targioni family produces an impressive portfolio of wine under the banner of Fattoria La Castellina. Their bold, balanced, and fruit-forward Chianti Classico and other wines are refined and expressive. And, of course, these vinos pair beautifully with Chef Fineo's cuisine.

My only regret about my stay at Palazzo Squarcialupi is that it was only for one night. But it was 24 hours of absolute perfection. With such gracious hosts, delicious food, wonderful wine, and a stunning setting; Palazzo Squarcialupa is truly a gem in the heart of Chianti.
