Tips

  • Opened on October 1, 2009, the museum features the life and legacy of Walt Disney. The museum retrofitted and expanded three existing historic buildings on the Presidios Main Post.
  • You are NOW allow to take pictures inside the museum as of 2/15/2013. No flash!
  • Don't be fooled by the first floor. Once you go up the elevator, the museum never ends! Reserve the WHOLE day if you want to read and see everything!
  • Not for little ones, most of the museum is reading.
  • La maqueta de Disneyland es impresionante!
  • If you are a Disney fan, plan on a minimum of 3 hrs to tour the museum!
  • Very pretty and well put together exhibit. Even the young kids liked it more than I expected since there were many multimedia interactive activities to do.
  • Check their website to get a list of upcoming events. It is a great place to see, hear & meet Disney legends for a very affordable price. Bring your autograph books as they often stick around after.
  • Wonderful museum in the Presidio to see the untold story behind the Disney family. Parents may enjoy more than kids (but still kid friendly)
  • Give yourself at least half a day to go through it. If you're a huge Disney fan, you may even want to give yourself a whole day.
  • Awesome museum about Walt Disney. Expect lots of reading for 3-4 hours! Now the Wiki entry about Walt Disney doesn't do him justice. :)
  • They allow photography (without flash) in their exhibit! It's such a wonderful experience. They only include the classics; Cinderella, Snow White, Bambi, lady and the tramp
  • The end is very well done and very moving.
  • Use your AAA and get $5 off admission
  • If you're a Disney fan and/or into drawing and animation -- you'll find this a hidden treasure of history and inspiration.
  • The furniture at the entrance of the galleries is the original furniture from Walt's apartment above the firehouse at Disneyland.
  • The last gallery (room) of the museum is soooo worth it
  • Leave the small children at home, this ain't *that* kind of Disney spot! Focusing entirely on the history of Walt Disney (the person), with lots of reading, I'd recommend for teenagers/adults only.
  • Random location for a fabulous museum about one of the greatest entertainer of all time.
  • Museum is catered more for grown up than kids
