The Ultimate 'Hunger Games' Victory Feast

If you didn't know anything about The Hunger Games, you'd probably think it was actually about, well, food. And although that's not the story's premise, the rich book-and-film franchise has no shortage of food references — from the extravagant meals in the Capitol, to the scraps in District 12, The Hunger Games is chock-full of foodie inspiration.

So it should come as no surprise that someone had the bright idea to create a themed menu for the beloved trilogy. The Unofficial Hunger Games Cookbook, by Emily Ansara Baines, has all the fixings for true Hunger Games fans, like Gale's Bone-Pickin' Game Soup, Lovelorn Peeta Pita Wildflower Pockets, and President Snow's Sautéed Dove Breasts in Bacon Drippings, for starters. (There's even a tree rat recipe — we don't want to know where to find a tree rat to cook.)

If you're itching for The Hunger Games' official movie release on March 25, a trilogy-inspired feast may hold you over until then. Just try not to fight each other for the last piece of Peeta's Cinnamon Bakery Bread.
