Located in San Francisco’s SOMA district, 25 Lusk is located in a circa-1917 brick-and-timber warehouse, and is part-restaurant (upstairs), part-lounge and bar (downstairs). Executive chef/partner Matthew Dolan has crafted a focused dinner menu of snacks, small plates, mains, and sides. Featured items include Bavarian-style soft pretzels with Gruyère fondue; slow-roasted pork belly with maple mole, runner beans, and lime crema; a Wagyu burger with Manchego, bacon, pommes Parisienne, and shallot mousse; fried chicken with braised heirloom greens and bacon gravy; and chimichurri tofu steak with porple rice, coconut, poached lotus, and Thai basil. Many of these items are available in both the restaurant and the lounge.

You’ll also find one of the city’s best brunches at 25 Lusk, with menu items including “coffee and doughnuts” with chocolate sauce, coffee, and a half-pint of ale; lobster Benedict; a pork belly breakfast sandwich with fontina, butter, watercress, and egg; a pancetta and Jersey Gold cheese frittata with crispy Brussels sprouts; and a chanterelle mushroom omelette with corn, camembert, and truffle powder.

If you go, make sure you don’t miss out on the cocktails, including the SF Yacht Club (vodka, grapefruit, cucumber, lemon, lime and mint); the Midnight Currant (black currant, Osocalis brandy, and prosecco); and the Mulberry Street (Bulleit rye, Campari, vermouth, orange bitters, and burnt orange).

Tips

  • Douchey as fuck but damn I like to be able to sit down and look at gorgeous architecture.
  • There's free wifi here and the owner is co-work friendly so feel free to enjoy the gorgeous ambiance, delicious food and yummy cocktails and don't feel shy about opening that laptop.
  • I shaved my balls for this?
  • Chef Matthew Dolan's homemade cinnamon doughnuts are served with French press coffee for dunking and a half pint of ale for soothing the headache. Genius.
  • Now open for Sunday brunch. One of the best choices in the neighborhood and you can make a reservation
  • Lower bar is killer
  • Look to your left, see that guy? With the skinny jeans and thick black framed glasses. He's the founder of some "mobile startup". Ask him to buy you a drink with his VC cash. Go for the scotch.
  • Try the High West Silver Whiskey. Amazing. Do it....do it....do it....
  • SF Weekly's Best Of 2011 - Reader's Poll - BEST NEW RESTAURANT
  • The rib eye was really good. Some bloody amazing food and service here.
  • The main highlight of this eggs benedict dish? The lobster (from Maine) is poached in clarified butter. Delicious and bursting with flavor this variation leaves you wanting more.
  • Vegas style design... this place is perfect for date night.
  • good location in Soma, nice interior, super brunch.
  • The best Dark and Stormy I've ever had
  • One of my top brunch options in Soma. Nice that you can make a reservation, so no waiting in long lines.

  • This place sucks. Run!
  • If you've never had the fried chicken, have it.
  • Food is good, crowd is douchey. If you're a VC, wannabe VC or person who wants to hang around with either you'll love this place.
