Located in San Francisco’s SOMA district, 25 Lusk is located in a circa-1917 brick-and-timber warehouse, and is part-restaurant (upstairs), part-lounge and bar (downstairs). Executive chef/partner Matthew Dolan has crafted a focused dinner menu of snacks, small plates, mains, and sides. Featured items include Bavarian-style soft pretzels with Gruyère fondue; slow-roasted pork belly with maple mole, runner beans, and lime crema; a Wagyu burger with Manchego, bacon, pommes Parisienne, and shallot mousse; fried chicken with braised heirloom greens and bacon gravy; and chimichurri tofu steak with porple rice, coconut, poached lotus, and Thai basil. Many of these items are available in both the restaurant and the lounge.
You’ll also find one of the city’s best brunches at 25 Lusk, with menu items including “coffee and doughnuts” with chocolate sauce, coffee, and a half-pint of ale; lobster Benedict; a pork belly breakfast sandwich with fontina, butter, watercress, and egg; a pancetta and Jersey Gold cheese frittata with crispy Brussels sprouts; and a chanterelle mushroom omelette with corn, camembert, and truffle powder.
If you go, make sure you don’t miss out on the cocktails, including the SF Yacht Club (vodka, grapefruit, cucumber, lemon, lime and mint); the Midnight Currant (black currant, Osocalis brandy, and prosecco); and the Mulberry Street (Bulleit rye, Campari, vermouth, orange bitters, and burnt orange).
