The World's Wildest Burgers

The World’s Wildest Burgers

We all know what a classic hamburger looks and tastes like, but have you considered these off-the-wall variations?

Big Al Burger

Diners in In New Zealand with adventurous appetites can check out Fergburger, where burger meat options include deer and lamb. Travelers challenge themselves to go for the Big Al, which comes with a double serving (half a pound) of prime New Zealand beef, lashings of bacon, plenty of cheese, two eggs, beets, lettuce, tomato, red onion, relish, and a big wad of aïoli.

Black Ninja Burger

The Black Ninja Burger looks kind of creepy. Also known as the Kuro Ninja, the burger is sold at Burger King in Japan. The ninja has two black buns, an onion ring, and a slice of bacon that looks like an extra-long tongue.

Bourgogne Burger

The Bourgogne Burger, at Chalet Regain, in Les Rousses, in France's Jura region, is served with a cylinder of greens, a bun balanced on a bottle of tomato sauce (like watered-down ketchup), and wild Burgundy snails.

Double Donut Burger

Sure, it has near 2,000 calories, but how does it taste? Probably delicious! That's because the Double Donut burger served at Hungry Horse, a British chain restaurant, contains two glazed doughnuts as buns, two burgers, melted cheese, bacon, and barbecue sauce. Critics argue the burger, which has 53 grams of fat, is a "heart attack on a plate."

Glamburger

Can burgers be glamorous? The chef at Honky Tonk, a London restaurant, thinks so. Chef Chris Large crafted a $1,768 Glamburger made of Kobe wagyu beef mixed with New Zealand venison; Canadian lobster poached in Iranian saffron; hickory-smoked duck egg coated in edible golf leaf; Beluga caviar; and Champagne, plus grated white truffle. Talk about indulgent.

Le Burger Extravagant

Forget ordering a burger off the value menu! Le Burger Extravagant, served at Serendipity 3 in New York City, costs $295. The ingredients are rich, too: white truffle butter-infused Japanese wagyu beef, Cheddar cheese, black truffles, and a fried quail egg, served on a gold-dusted roll with white truffle butter, blini, caviar, and crème fraîche. This sounds like a burger that you might find at the end of a rainbow.

The Bogan Burger

The Bogan Burger, available at The Napier Hotel in Victoria, Australia, is stuffed with steak, chicken schnitzel, caramelized onions, cheese, pineapple, beets, egg, potato cake, bacon, lettuce, and tomato, with wedges (thick fries) and a salad of course (need to keep it healthy). This giant burger costs $25, heartburn medication not included!

The Grand Burger

McGuire's Irish Pub in Destin, Fla., dishes up this luxe burger featuring ground and chargrilled grand filet mignon, served with caviar, merlot sauce, and a grand magnum of Moët Impérial champagne. The tab for the Grand Burger? $100. Just a drop in the bucket.

The Brunch Burger

This brunch burger is a winner for anyone who loves baseball, doughnuts, and bacon burgers. The Pittsburgh Pirates served this sweet and savory burger at ballgames at PNC Park. The ingredients? A beef patty, bacon, Cheddar, and a fried egg stacked between a glazed doughnut with sprinkles. Pretty, um, sweet?

Whopper with 1000 Slices of Cheese

This one is for all of our cheese lovers out there. Burger King in Japan allows customers to customize their burger orders. Eating the Whopper with 1000 slices of cheese means you're consuming 95,000 calories! Just spend a few extra minutes at the gym and you're golden.
