Where To Celebrate The 4th American-Style Around The World (Slideshow)

Acquedotto Romano Polo Club, Rome

When in Rome, do...as the Americans do? The American International Club of Rome is celebrating Independence Day on July 2nd at the Acquedotto Romano Polo Club, and the event is open to all. €15 gets guests into the open-air celebration, which includes live music, a polo match, games, crafts for kids, a snack and dessert bar, an American-themed food truck, beverages, and maybe even a helicopter ride! There's also a raffle (with proceeds helping local homeless) and a free shuttle from the nearest Metro station. Although there's limited hay bale seating, guests are encouraged to bring picnic blankets. Tickets are not sold at the door, so be sure to snag yours online before the June 30th deadline.

Bungalow 8 Club & The Loft, Sydney

The Sydney Americans are a group of U.S. ex-pats now living down under, and they are "once again throwing the biggest Fourth of July American Independence Day Party in Australia." That's a bold claim to make, but they've got the details to back it up. In addition to taking over the Bungalow 8 Club and The Loft as a single venue, they'll have American food, beer, spirits, and meal deals; American whisky tastings; live American DJs (and "the best American playlist ever"); games like trivia, beer pong, flip cup, and cornhole; $10,000 in raffle rewards, door prizes, and giveaways; and, of course, fireworks. The Jim Beam Party Crew will even be there! Although freedom isn't free, this party is gratis if you arrive before 6 p.m. After that it's a $20 cover — or $10 if you come dressed in your best American ensemble.

Place de Fête de la Campagne du Château, Geneva

The American International Club is back again, but this time it's the Geneva branch — and they're throwing quite the 4th of July hootenanny. The setting is the Place de Fête de la Campagne du Château, and the events and activities include games for both kids and adults, appearances by the Geneva Seahawks American Football Team and Geneva Baseball League teams, food trucks (including The Hamburger FoundationFunky BBQ, and Brooklyn Kitchen), and a live performance by a rock, jazz, and blues band. Admission is $50 for non-members, but the price includes a meal at one of the trucks.

Singapore American School, Singapore

The American Association of Singapore is once again throwing their annual Independence Day celebration, this time in partnership with the Singapore American School. The event will be held on July 2nd, and will feature a full day of fun, music, drinks, and even a bounce castle! The whole thing will be capped off with a formal ceremony and spectacular fireworks display. As always, there is no admission fee, and the event is completely not-for-profit.

Tempelhofer Feld, Berlin

Whether you're true to Trump, head-over-heels for Hillary, or supporting one of the numerous other candidates, we can all agree on one thing: the Democrats Abroad Independence Day Potluck is the most American thing happening in Berlin on July 3rd. (Unless of course a bald eagle in a pickup truck hits a home run and crushes a can of Budweiser on its head.) You'll have to supply your own water, food, and blankets for sitting, but there will be kegs of Stone beer, wine, and assorted other drinks (for a donation) while guests enjoy good company, fun games, and some sweet sparklers. Everything is going down at Tempelhofer Feld, and admission costs zero American Dollars.

The Blues Kitchen, London

The Blues Kitchen bar/restaurant/live music venue has three different London locations (Camden, Shoreditch, and Brixton) and all of them are celebrating the Fourth of July this year. Camden is dishing out classic American barbecue fare with a live set of the best southern, swamp, and blues rock. Shoreditch is hosting a hot dog eating competition, serving special apple pie sundaes, and have booked a brass band. And Brixton is throwing a rib night with a live bluegrass band. The first two have no entry fee, but the last will run you ₤10. In the true spirit of patriotism, all three offer free cans of beer (Dixie or PBR) for U.S. citizens with valid American passports.

The Twisted Hop Pub, Christchurch, New Zealand

June 2nd is The Twisted Hop Pub's annual 4th of July party, and they'll be pouring American and American-themed beers all day long. New Zealand's own local band Headrush will covering American tunes, barbecue will be served, and there will be prizes for the best "Proud to be American" costume.

U.S. Consulate, São Paulo

What better place to be on the 4th of July in São Paulo than the U.S. Consulate? Not just because it's obviously American, but because they're throwing an Independence Day Family Celebration complete with a hot dog and burger picnic, kids games, prizes, a rock and roll band, and some delicious desserts provided by you, the attendee. You'll need to make a reservation by June 22nd, bring an ID to the event, and be a member of the American Society of São Paulo (sign up here) or at least the guest of a member — but if you meet these requirements, it's free!
