Last Chance To Purchase Senior Lifetime Pass From The National Park Service

The National Park Service is still offering a $10 senior lifetime pass for a few more days. A lifetime pass gives travelers age 62 and older free entrance for life for themselves and up to three accompanying adults.

The pass covers thousands of locations managed by the National Park Service, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the U.S. Forest Service, the Bureau of Land Management, the Bureau of Reclamation, and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

According to The Washington Post, people are clamoring to purchase these passes before the Aug. 28 deadline, when prices will shoot up to $80. The decision to raise prices was not made by the park service, but by legislation passed by Congress last year. The 700 percent rise in price is the first increase since 1994.

The passes can be purchased either by mail, with an application postmarked by Aug. 27, or online at this site.
