Döttling has a long line of luxury safes that lock your prized possessions away, unseen and unreachable by thieves, but they’ve changed it up with their newest model. Though it is just as impenetrable as its predecessors, the new Gallery solves the major issue of your treasures being hidden from prying eyes. Because if there is one thing we all love, it is mocking potential bandits with glittering prizes they can see, but not touch.
The design features “high-gloss nickel fittings and sides covered in the finest calfskin [that] is closely aligned to The Bel-Air safe range, reflecting the timelessly elegant appearance of overseas travel cases from the Roaring Twenties.” As nice as that sounds, the door’s 30-mm-thick armored glass window is where the wow factor comes in. Of course, you don’t always want people to see inside, which is why Döttling designed the window to be able to switch between transparent and opaque via remote control.
Lined with Alcantara leather, the interior features 24 watch winders that are accessible through a fingerprint high-security lock and four drawers with “black-stained Japanese Tamo Ash veneers, an extendable table, and four secret compartments.” Finally, 17 dimmable LED spotlights treat your valuables like priceless museum artifacts.
The Gallery starts at €130,000 ($138,033) and will make its official world premiere on December 2 at Miami’s De Gallery.
