TASTE THE FLAVOURS OF FRANCE IN LYON

'Flavours of France' are delighted to announce that they are now able to offer holidaymakers a new gourmet holiday experience in Lyon. Founded last year by Anika Patel, 'Flavours of France' are already well known for their cookery holidays in La Rochelle. Their new short breaks in Lyon, widely known as the food capital of France, will tempt the taste buds of any budding gastronome.

Holidays will include cookery tuition from Simon Huet, a top chef at the Michelin starred restaurant, Têtedoie. Under his instruction, guests will learn how to cook a range of fine dining and gourmet dishes, that are sure to impress dinner party guests. Menus are inspired by classic French and Lyonnaise dishes, and have at their heart some of the fantastic ingredients that this corner of France is famous for.

However, a Flavours of France holiday isn't simply about learning to cook. Guests will get an all-round taste of food and drink culture in Lyon. Their stay will include a visit to a vineyard to learn about the arts of producing and tasting Beaujolais. Guests will also have a shopping expedition to Les Halles de Paul Bocuse. This market is one of the best food shopping venues in the world, and is stuffed full of delightful things to eat and drink.

Although a trip to Lyon could easily be all about eating and wine, Flavours of France are keen to show off the culture and history of this fascinating city. Guests will stay in the heart of Lyon, on the beautiful Bellecour Square, and be able to ramble the cobbled streets of Old Lyon and take in the murals, museums and galleries. A stop in a bouchon is essential – these tiny, locally run restaurants are just as much about community and tradition as they are about excellent food.

Anika Patel said "Lyon is famous for its contribution to French cuisine, and that contribution is something we want to share. As well as giving the chance to learn how to recreate the food of Lyon at home, 'Flavours of France' also offer English-speaking tourists the chance to experience the Gallic art of eating and drinking well. This is a city full of charm, and anyone who has any interest in food, wine, art or history will find something about Lyon they love."

"A gourmet holiday in Lyon is a must for anyone who wants to experience the real Flavours of France."

Flavours of France' offers 4 and 5 day cookery courses in Lyon as well as 3 and 4 day courses in La Rochelle. More details can be found at www.flavoursfrance.com
