Most of us live pretty busy lives and with so many tasks to keep up with, cooking seems to go on the background. Furthermore, to prepare a good meal from any recipe, the very first thing to do is make a list with products needed and head to the grocery store to purchase them.

To make things easier and far more convinient, major grocery chains started their own online subscription food delivery service. This enables customers to have any grocery products delivered to their front door every time they need them. With some services, you can even subscribe for daily meals, receive all ingredients and easy to follow recipe at your front door every day. The best thing is that you can do all this online, while browsing the website of the preffered food delivery service.

Its hard to imagine easier way to have freshly prepared food everyday, but is it really worth it? What are the costs for subscribing for a food delivery service? Is the food that is going to be delivered, healthy? I will try to answer these questions in the rest of my article.

Most of the subscription food delivery services were started just few years ago, but most of them enjoyed steady growth in subscribers and popularity. Depending on the type of food subscription delivery service, the prices may vary. For example, major grocery chains such as Wallmart offer such services for as low as $7 per order, while some like Amazon Fresh offer annual subscription for $299. If you decide to go with a food delivery service where you will have different meal delivered to your front door on daily basis, the prices are likely to be anywhere between $10 and $15 per order. 

Is the delivered food healthy?

With subscription food delivery services, you are free to choose the exact products you want to have delivered and all other necessary details, so whether the delivered food will be healthy depends entirely on your preferences. All groceries and meal ingredients to be delivered to you, are certain to be fresh and delicious.

The boxed meals available, also use healthy recipes and fresh ingredients. With most such food delivery subscription services, you will be able to choose among various healthy recipes perfect for the season.

Is subscription food delivery worth it?

If you are OK with paying the delivery fees for your grocery items or entire meals, then subscription food delivery is great option to eat fresh every day. With out lives getting even busier, such service could save a lot of time and the price you will be required to pay doesn't seem that high.
