Strawberry Caipirinha Recipe

This take on Brazil's national drink uses macerated strawberries instead of combining the granulated sugar and strawberries together during the muddling process.


For the macerated strawberries:

  • 1 pint strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice

For the cocktail:

  • 1 heaping tablespoon macerated strawberries
  • 2 lime wedges
  • Ice
  • 2 ounces Leblon cachaça


For the macerated strawberries:

Combine the strawberries, sugar, and lemon juice in a bowl and mix to coat. Cover and let sit in the refrigerator for one to two hours.

For the cocktail:

Muddle the strawberries with the lime wedges in a rocks glass. Add ice and pour in cachaça and stir to mix.
