You Only Need An Ice Cube Tray To Make Homemade Ice Cream
By Linda Larsen
Making ice cream at home was once a lengthy and costly affair, but now with a few tips and special ingredients, you can make ice cream in an ice cube tray. You will need different ingredients from the old days and a food processor, but the process is otherwise fairly simple.
You can use any recipe when making this ice cream, but starting with a no-churn recipe may be better as it has the proper formulation for small ice crystals. Freeze your ice cream mixture in ice cube trays, then plop the cubes into your food processor and process until smooth.
After processing your ice cream cubes until smooth, put the ice cream into a freezer container, cover tightly, and freeze until firm. This method works because it reduces the number of hard ice crystals that form in the ice cream from the start, whereas the crystals are normally broken up by churning.
