Why You Should Add Coca-Cola To Your Next Batch Of Brownies
By Cynthia Anaya
It may sound strange, but adding Coca-Cola to brownies can actually give them a pleasant texture and consistency. You can try out the new ingredient with both boxed brownie mix and brownies made from scratch.
For boxed mix, you'll just replace the wet ingredients with Coca-Cola and you’re done. To make brownies from scratch, you'll need all-purpose flour, sugar, cocoa powder, salt, baking powder, and a 12-ounce can or bottle of Coca-Cola.
After dry ingredients are combined, pour the Coca-Cola slowly and stir it until it becomes thick and smooth. Ideally the batter should fall slowly off the spoon, so if it sticks, add more Coca-Cola, and if it slides, add more cocoa powder. Now you’re ready to bake some deliciously moist, gooey, and spongy brownies.
