Why You Need To Cover Your Cake In Plastic Wrap Fresh Out Of The Oven
By Haldan Kirsch
Wrapping a freshly baked cake in plastic wrap traps the steam that escapes your cake and will help you produce a consistently moist cake every time.
Once the cake has finished baking, take it out of the oven and let it rest for ten minutes. Then, cover the pan and cake in plastic wrap, or just wrap the cake itself.
If you're trying to save an already overbaked cake, it might be best to remove it from the pan once it has cooled since the residual heat continues baking the cake.
Wrapping your cake is great when you don't have time to bake and decorate it, as you can move it directly into the fridge or freezer once it has reached room temperature.
