Where Is Veggie Mama From Shark Tank Today?
By Nico Danilovich
Theresa Fraijo and her husband, Robert Fraijo, created Veggie Mama to make vegetables more appealing to consumers, especially kids. Their additive-free frozen veggie and fruit pops created a heated bidding war among the sharks during its Season 5 appearance on “Shark Tank,” and the Fraijos eventually struck a deal with Mark Cuban and Barbara Corcoran.
Veggie Mama was fortunate to be one of the food pitches funded on Season 5, but even though the business seemed to be thriving a year after appearing on “Shark Tank,” a look at social media indicates the startup shut down in late 2018. Theresa’s LinkedIn account notes the venture reached a high of 1,200 retail locations nationwide, but she now works as a contract administrator for the State of Colorado.
Theresa and Robert put a lot on the line to make their startup successful, but striking a deal with sharks who only invested to spite the other sharks is not a great recipe for success. There's certainly an appeal to healthy ice pops you can feel good about snacking on, but it appears Veggie Mama specifically just wasn't appealing enough.
