The Pizza Cupcake was born in January 2018, after chef Andrea Meggiato and his wife Michelle Jimenez invented the cupcake-shaped snack. They came to “Shark Tank” looking to expand their business even more, asking for $125,000 for 5% equity, and made a deal with Lori Greiner for the full $125,000 in exchange for 12.5%, as well as 2.5% in advisory shares.

After sealing their deal with Greiner, The Pizza Cupcake found even more success by branching into retail sales, and by November 2021, they made their way into select Northeast American grocery stores. In February 2022, they landed a collaboration with celebrity chef Chrissy Teigen and released the limited-edition "Chrissy's Margherita" flavor.

As of September 2022, The Pizza Cupcake's products can be found in more than 1,900 grocery stores across the United States, including Whole Foods, Wegmans, and hundreds of Walmart locations. They sell two flavors of their frozen pizza cupcakes, classic pepperoni and Margherita, which can be purchased in-store or on their website.
