What Is Starbucks' 10-Minute Rule?

To avoid working too late after hours restaurant employees will close sooner than the posted closing time, often to the chagrin of their customers. However, Starbucks has something called the 10-minute that benefits the customers rather than the employees.
The 10-minute rule at Starbucks involves remaining open 10 minutes after the posted closing time and unlocking the doors 10 minutes before the posted opening time. You may get a dirty look from the barista when you walk through before or after closing time, but at least you'll still be able to order your cup of Caramel Ribbon Crunch Frappuccino.
However, a few self-proclaimed Starbucks employees took to Reddit, to explain that while the rule is in the handbook, it isn’t always followed and depends on the store manager of each location. So, while a 10-minute grace period doesn’t seem to be guaranteed, you’ll have a better shot of getting a post-closing latte at Starbucks than most of the other restaurants and coffee shops.
