Comparisons to Shake Shack's delicious smash burgers may have proved to be the Costco cheeseburger's undoing, as Costco's regular patties lacked the same meaty flavor.
As recently as 2021, Redditors have wondered why hamburgers are so hard to come by. One person stated the burgers were "Terrible. Absolutely reheated from frozen."
Another commenter agreed with this sentiment while also claiming that the high cost of the burger was a major deterrent when compared with the lack of quality.
One commenter stated that Angus Beef burgers were once sold in Canada for "about six months," but the time and effort needed to construct the burger contributed to its demise.
