Warm Up Your Sweet Potato Dishes With This Nutty Liqueur
By Haldan Kirsch
After many hours of shopping, planning, prepping, and cooking, it would be a shame to let your Thanksgiving leftovers go to waste. Thankfully, there are endless ways to upgrade them; for example, the addition of one ingredient can give your sweet potato dish a much-needed boost.
Sweet potatoes can be used in sweet or savory dishes, served as a breakfast hash, or mashed and baked into treats. Rivulet — a pecan liqueur released in 2014 — adds a sweet, nutty kick to almost all sweet potato recipes without crunchy pecans interfering with the soft texture of your baked goods.
Pecans and sweet potatoes aren't for everyone, but Rivulet adds just a hint of that pecan flavor without overpowering the sweetness of the potatoes. Per Rivulet, it uses oak barrel-aged brandy as its base spirit, then adds notes of pecans, orange zest, maple syrup, and baking spices to create a delectable palette of flavors.
