Visit The Freezer Aisle To Make Chicken Parmesan Prep Easier
By Julia Mullaney
While Chicken Parmesan is an Italian-American staple, making breaded chicken can be a nightmare, with plenty of cleanup and concern over safely handling raw chicken and eggs.
For a simpler version, use pre-breaded chicken cutlets from your grocery store's freezer section to eliminate breading and frying your own chicken, reducing prep time by half.
You can also use frozen chicken cutlets or breaded chicken tenders for the base, and breaded chicken patties are a good alternative for a less costly, kid-friendly version.
While the homemade version may taste a bit better, they're a pain to prepare, and you won't taste much of a difference if you use high-quality tomato sauce and mozzarella.
Simply cook the frozen chicken per package instructions, top it with tomato sauce and fresh mozzarella, and pop it back into the oven or under the broiler until the cheese melts.
