Upset Stomach? Try Eating Applesauce
By Crystal Antonace
There's nothing like a terrible stomachache to put a damper on the rest of your day or your much-anticipated weekend plans. However, there are foods that can help alleviate those pestering core pains, such as applesauce.
Applesauce is part of the well-known BRAT diet, which helps an upset stomach since it’s low in fiber. It also contains a good amount of pectin, which is a soluble fiber that turns into a naturally aiding gel for your digestive tract.
In addition to pectin, apples also have a high amount of vitamin C and potassium. To get the best results from an apple in terms of a digestive aid, cook your apple, as cooked apples produce more pectin and are easy to digest, especially if you make applesauce.
