This Is How You Should Be Reheating Leftover Rice
By Vedran Maslovara
Globally, rice is one of the most popular grains, and if you're a fan and make lots of rice dishes, there will undoubtedly be leftover rice. Fortunately, The Pioneer Woman reports that there are a few ways to reheat your leftover rice and add some moisture back to it in the process.
You can use your microwave and heat leftover rice with a small amount of water in a plate or dish, covered with wet paper towels to help it regain some of its moisture. Alternatively, you can steam the rice in a saucepan with the lid on, or pop it in an oven-safe dish, cover the top, and bake it for about 20 minutes.
Just be careful not to leave leftover rice out at room temperature for too long to prevent the growth of Bacillus cereus bacteria, which can cause food poisoning. To ensure optimal flavor and safety, keep your leftover rice in the fridge for no more than a day before it's reheated.
