The Wegmans Tomato Sauce Guy Fieri Can't Resist
By Arianna Endicott
In the show "Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives," Guy Fieri travels to different restaurants to taste their dishes, highlighting the best of the best at each restaurant he visits. During an episode of the 16th season of the show, Fieri visited a restaurant called Pastabilities in Syracuse, New York, and fell in love with a spicy appetizer dip that you can enjoy at home.
The dip in question is the restaurant's signature Spicy Hot Tomato Oil & Stretch Bread appetizer — a blend of garlic, olive oil, tomatoes, honey, salt, chili peppers, and spiced oil that is only $6. However, if you don’t live close enough to Syracuse to justify a dinner trip, you can visit the pasta aisle of your nearest Wegmans grocery store for a pre-jarred version of the dip.
The sauce has been found at Wegmans stores in Maryland, New Jersey, and Brooklyn, but other locations may also have it. The restaurant, which calls the appetizer a "put-on-anything" sauce (per Food&Wine), has a website dedicated to the dip, but it only ships to the US and Canada; although, it suggests emailing customer service to arrange worldwide shipping.
