The Way To Clean The Needle In Your Keurig Coffee Maker
By Grace Allison
A Keurig coffee maker has two needles: an entrance and an exit needle. Keeping both clean is essential if you want a perfect cup of coffee.
First, turn the coffee machine off or unplug, remove the pod holder, and start cleaning. The exit needle is inside the pod holder, so exercise caution when handling it.
Carefully pull the funnel attachment from the pod holder — an exposed tube should be on the underside. Straighten one edge of a paperclip and use it to clear any debris.
Wash both the funnel and pod holder in the sink under running water. Leave these attachments to dry while you clean the entrance needle.
The entrance needle is visible after lifting the lid. Place the paperclip into the side holes of the needle and carefully move the paperclip around until the debris is cleared.
Place the pod holder with the funnel securely re-attached back into the machine. Lift and lower the handle before running two water-only cycles using the largest cup size.
