The Way To Clean A Stainless Steel Sink So It's Streak-Free
By Alia Ali
Minerals from tap water build up in the sink, leaving visible steaks, so it must be cleaned regularly — ideally, you should clean it daily or at least once a week.
The simple and natural solution is baking soda. Make a loose paste of baking soda and water, then use a microfiber cloth to rub it in the direction of the grain of your sink.
The baking soda's alkalinity helps break down food particles that make up the stains in the sink. It also removes surface rust, keeping your sink bright and shiny.
Distilled white vinegar is a good alternative, and when used with baking soda, carbon dioxide in the form of gas is released, which helps physically remove stains.
However, Live Science says to "not combine them in equal amounts because you need to keep the mixture in either the acidic or basic side of the neutral value."
Once the sink is clean, polish it using a microfiber cloth, lightly dabbed in baby oil, and gently work it into the surface of a stainless steel sink.
