The Unexpected Item You Can Only Find At A Select Few Chick-Fil-A Locations
By Stacie Adams
The beloved eatery Chick-fil-A, best known for its tasty chicken sandwiches and kind employees, sets the bar pretty high for fast-casual dining establishments. Chick-fil-A certainly knows how to make their patrons happy with excellent customer service, and they also offer a surprising menu item, but only at certain locations.
Chick-fil-A was preceded by another establishment — the Dwarf Grill (eventually, the Dwarf House) was opened by S. Truett Cathy in Atlanta, Georgia 20 years before Chick-Fil-A. Cathy recreated the Dwarf Grill in 1986, and it offers the same items as Chick-Fil-A along with a few specialty items that can’t be found anywhere else.
In addition to chicken sandwiches, nuggets, and waffle fries, Dwarf House also offers cornbread, green beans, and fried okra, a traditional southern comfort food. Because the slick texture of the mucilage in okra can be off-putting for some, okra is often coated with breadcrumbs and fried to perfection, just like you’ll find at the Dwarf House.
