The Subtly Sweet Ingredient That Amps Up The Flavor Of Vegetable Soup
By Noor Anand Chawla
If you want to amp up the flavor of your vegetable soup, include some healthy and delicious carrot juice to add a subtle sweetness without making the soup too sugary.
Vegetable soup can be made in many ways with your favorite veggies, herbs, and spices. It could be heavy with more chopped and cooked veggies or have a broth-like consistency.
Carrots and carrot juice, in particular, add plenty of flavor and should be included in every vegetable soup recipe to add a slightly sweet flavor and a bit of earthy tang.
The tang, most evident in fresh carrots, perfectly offsets the sweetness. You should add about one cup of carrot juice for every four servings of your vegetable soup.
The subtly sweet flavor is due to the natural sugars within ripe carrots, and the rich earthiness comes from the fact that it's a root vegetable that grows in the ground.
