The Stunningly Cheap Price For The Original Wendy's Frosty
By Aimee Lamoureux
Wendy’s famous Frosty is a delicious combination of ice cream and shake that is unlike any other treat. It was created by Fred Kappus and Dave Thomas as a dessert that “was so thick you had to eat it with a spoon,” per chief marketing officer Ian Rowden, and it debuted in 1969 at an incredibly cheap price.
The original Frosty cost just 35 cents, and it has since become one of the chain's most popular menu items. Unfortunately, the price has risen over the years, but it is still a pretty good bargain at a reasonable 99 cents.
Though the Frosty costs more today than in 1969, it also has more varieties than the original chocolate flavor. The second-ever flavor, vanilla, debuted in 2006, and the chain has since released limited edition flavors like Strawberry, Birthday Cake, Bananas Foster, Peppermint, and even a Pickle Frosty.
