The Simple Paste That Makes Removing Bundt Cakes Effortless
By Arianna Endicott
To save some time when removing a bundt cake from a pan, you should make "cake goop," which is equal parts neutral-flavored oil, vegetable shortening, and flour.
All you'll need to do is whisk the ingredients together, then coat the inside of your baking pan with this simple but effective paste, and removing your cake will be effortless.
The mix of oil, shortening, and flour in the paste is similar to the composition of canned baking sprays, which generally contain oil and flour.
Choose a neutral-flavored oil, like sunflower or vegetable, as any oil with a strong flavor may impact the cake's taste. All-purpose or gluten-free flour is the best option.
Spread the paste in the pan, then pour in the cake batter and bake as normal. If you have any leftover paste, it can be stored in an airtight container for future bakes.
