The Rich Ingredient You Should Utilize For Baked Meatballs
By Ashlyn Frassinelli
Meatballs are versatile little treats that can be incorporated into a medley of recipes. They are often fried, but when they are baked, they tend to come out dry.
Dryness is easily avoided if you use beef broth for your next attempt at baked meatballs. Coat the bottom of your baking sheet with broth so the steam imparts moisture.
As the steam circulates through the oven, it will keep everything humid and tender as the meatballs cook so they won’t dry out.
The broth will also soak into the meat, so you’ll want to choose a good quality broth. Add a quarter cup of broth to your mixture, then pour ¾ cup of broth into the tray.
Set the oven to 450°F and make sure it is fully preheated before sliding the tray in. It should take 25 minutes, but avoid opening the door so no steam escapes.
