The Overnight Oats Hack To Finish Up The Last Of That Peanut Butter
By Betsy Parks
Because scraping that last bit of peanut butter is difficult, and there usually isn't enough for a sandwich, making overnight oats in the jar is the perfect way to clean it out.
Use a spoon or narrow spatula to scrape the peanut butter off the sides and collect it on the bottom. You only need to scrape enough to loosen it up so it mixes with the oats.
Add your oats and any kind of milk to the jar using a 1-to-1 ratio — if you use one cup of oats, add one cup of milk. You can also sweeten things up with some maple syrup or honey.
Add a pinch of salt so the oats don't taste bland, then close the lid and give the jar a good shake. Leave it overnight, then open it in the morning, give it a stir, and enjoy.
With this hack, you'll make a quick and easy breakfast while reducing food waste. After breakfast, simply rinse out the peanut butter jar and toss it in the recycling bin.
