The One Coffeehouse Chain Duff Goldman Can't Get Enough Of
By Arianna Endicott
Duff Goldman opened his first bakery, Charm City Cakes, in Baltimore in 2002, and its success earned him a Food Network show called "Ace of Cakes," prompting him to open a second bakery location in Los Angeles. Goldman may be a baking whiz, but that doesn't mean he'll turn down treats from other bakeries, and in fact, he’s particularly fond of one coffeehouse chain.
The staff of "The Rachael Ray Show" asked several celebrity chefs about their favorite fast-food restaurants, and Goldman stated that his favorite was Krispy Kreme. In 2018, Goldman even worked with Krispy Kreme to celebrate the brand's 81st anniversary and created a giant three-tiered "Ultimate Donut Cake," which he showed off on the TV channel KTNV.
Goldman decorated the middle layer of the cake with a mix of Krispy Kreme's Original Glazed donuts and Glazed Confetti donuts, designed the top and bottom layers using inspiration from the brand's packaging, and finally added a decorative Krispy Kreme logo. He even went on a tour across the country, doing 14 television interviews and three radio talks about the brand.
