The Olive Garden Employee Who Will Make You Think Again About Ordering Soda
By Matthew Wilson
Olive Garden is America's leading Italian chain, but a TikToker who claims to have worked there for over ten years will make you rethink ordering soda at the chain.
The TikToker @spookyshanny revealed that the Olive Garden they worked at had problems with insects and small creatures and constantly battled slugs when getting diners' drinks.
They said, "We actually had to knock slugs off before we filled up sodas, and our managers just said there was nothing we could really do about it."
The situation isn't only isolated to Olive Garden — in 2015, a Thought Catalog writer recounted discovering several cockroaches in the drink machine at a restaurant in New York.
A 2010 study by the International Journal of Food Microbiology (via CNN) found that nearly half of 90 drink machines tested in Virginia contained coliform bacteria.
Although cleanliness and service vary with location, you might want to rethink ordering a soda at any understaffed establishment since the machine may not be cleaned properly.
