The Moving Jimmy Buffett Tribute From Margaritaville
By Cristine Struble
In the wake of Jimmy Buffett’s death, his Margaritaville restaurants offered a sentimental tribute to the late “It's 5 O'Clock Somewhere” singer.
In part, the brand's Instagram post stated, “What Jimmy loved most was getting on a stage [...] and changing the attitude and latitude of audiences to a vacation state of mind.”
“He knew how to have fun and cared deeply about bringing everyone else along with him [...].When he flashed that signature smile [...], you just felt happy to be in his orbit.”
The post concluded, "Margaritaville was to expand the opportunity for as many people to experience the lifestyle immortalized in his iconic song as possible."
While the flags at his Margaritaville resorts flew at half-mast, many Jimmy Buffett fans flocked to his restaurants to pay tribute to the late singer/songwriter.
A fan honoring Buffett at the Chicago location stated, "I think he would like that everyone was here" because "the vibe of Margaritaville is picking yourself up after a hard time."
Similar to how his songs will continue to play, the doors to Margaritaville will be open to all Parrotheads looking for a taste of paradise, even if just for a few hours.
