The Keurig Hack For Boiling Water Ultra-Fast
By Camryn Teder
Keurig machines work by dispensing hot water through a coffee pod, so removing these pods leaves only boiling water that can be used for a variety of purposes.
Lift the K-cup dispenser and close it without inserting a K-cup. Then, select your desired amount of water, press the button, and you'll have boiling water in about one minute.
This hack is handy if you don't have another heating device nearby, but remember that every machine is different, so refer to the instruction manual before trying.
This hack is also cost-effective, as you can simply use a tea bag and brewed boiled water from the Keurig to make tea or other drinks if you run out of tea K-cups.
You should complete at least one test run of plain hot water before adding it to anything to prevent your dish from smelling or tasting like a watered-down cup of coffee.
Since it's essentially just a boiling water dispenser, your Keurig can make a lot more than drinks, including instant ramen, oatmeal, pasta, or soup.
The temperature of a Keurig's water hovers around 192 degrees Fahrenheit, which is under the boiling point of 212, so you should keep an eye on the product to ensure it's cooked.
