The High-Quality Greek Olive Oil You Should Grab At Costco
By Heather Newman
Although a cheaper olive oil may be tempting, aim for quality and grab the Myrto brand extra virgin olive oil the next time you're at Costco.
Costco sells a dual-pack of Myrto for $75, which will net you three liters of rich, robust olive oil imported from Greece. While it may seem pricey, it's well worth the price.
When it comes to grades of olive oil, extra-virgin is the best. It's the olives' first pressing once harvested and results in the most robust flavor.
Although additional pressings produce oil for cooking, they're not flavorful enough to stand on their own or as a finishing oil like Myrto's extra-virgin olive oil.
Myrto uses single-origin Koroneiki olives from the Kalamata region of Greece. These olives offer herbal notes similar to an artichoke with fruity flavors and a hint of pepper.
As a result, you get a well-balanced flavor, perfect for whipping up a tasty vinaigrette, glazing roasted vegetables, and drizzling over pizza or soup.
