The Gourmet Aldi Charcuterie Nuts You Won't Want To Sleep On
By Heidi Chaya
Intriguing, irresistible, snacky-type food and fancy noshing food are two categories in which Aldi particularly excels. You can head to your nearest Aldi and stock up on a special nut for your next spread before they're gone!
Smaller, rounder, flatter, and a little sweeter than regular almonds, Marcona almonds are available seasonally at Aldi for $4.99 per 5-ounce bag, and they come in rosemary and sea salt flavors. The almonds have special qualities due to Spain’s agricultural practices and Europe’s lack of pasteurization laws, and they will add great texture and flavor to your charcuterie board.
Marcona almonds are sweeter than standard almonds, and their buttery flavor works well in dishes like shaved brussels sprouts with Marcona almonds and pecorino. Spanish Table suggests dusting Marcona almonds in smoked paprika and pairing them with a chilled, dry sherry.
