The French Brand Responsible For Costco's Kirkland Brie
By Stacie Adams
Costco's Kirkland brie is beloved for its silky-smooth texture, rich, buttery flavor, and mildly earthy scent. The brand behind the cheese is the French company Isigny Ste. Mère.
Today the company produces the renowned brie along with Camembert, smokey Pont-l'Évêque, Normandy Tomme, Pavé d'Isigny, and Mimolette, known for its orange rind.
Since the brie comes from France, it can be overpowering to some customers, so for those who want a mild cheese, Costco recommends enjoying it a month before its sell-by date.
For those who enjoy a stronger cheese, it's best to eat it around the sell-by date, and if you want a cheese in the middle, use the brie around two weeks prior to the sell-by date.
