The Fancy Cherries You Should Be Getting At Costco
By Betsy Parks
The Costco product that has recently caught the eye of eagle-eyed shoppers on Reddit is the 35-ounce jars of highly-rated Fabbri Amarena Wild Cherries.
If you've got a Costco membership, you can get these cherries for $19. At 35.2 ounces, you'll get around 45 to 50 cherries, which work out to about 40 cents a cherry.
Specialty cherries that usually come from Italy cost around $25 for smaller jars at stores like Whole Foods, but Fabbri Amarena cherries cost less and still provide quality.
These cherries are from the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy. They have a complex, tart flavor, which is balanced out with a sweet, amaretto-like flavor when candied and preserved.
If you want to be an amateur mixologist, you must have top-quality cherries for your cocktails, and Fabbri Amarena Wild Cherries are great for garnishing a good bourbon drink.
As an added bonus, Fabbri Amarena cherries come in stylish painted porcelain containers that you'll want to keep once you eat all the cherries.
